Maintenance-free Compact Central Articulated Pivot for Joining Railway Carriages
In modern rail vehicles, the carriage bodies are connected to each other by gangways so that passengers can move from one part of the vehicle to another. The carriage bodies are joined in the floor area by means of central articulated joints with a maintenancefree ELGOGLIDE® sliding fabric.

They are particularly effective with oscillating movements and achieve a rating life several times higher than that of bearings with conventional materials. Maintenance-free Central Articulated Pivot for Joining Tram Carriages
Modern low-floor trams offer not only the comfort of low-floor access but also free passage from the front to the rear of the vehicle. The modular concept vehicles can normally be fitted, depending on the required size, with three, five or seven carriage bodies connected to each other by means of central articulated joints.

Rolling Bearings for the Wheelsets of the TALENT 2 Electric Multiple Unit
Examples of Application EngineeringDeutsche Bahn AG has concluded a framework agreement with Bombardier Transportation for delivery of up to 321 electric multiple units of the second generation of the TALENT vehicle concept. Schaeffler Group Industrial has developed the rolling bearings for the train wheelsets in an engineering partnership with Deutsche Bahn and system manufacturer Bombardier.
