ID²® (INA Durability Drive)



ID²® (INA Durability Drive) represents a system for reducing forces and oscillations in toothed belt drives. Through the use of belt pulleys precisely matched to the specific belt drive system, the following effects can be achieved:

  • reduction in forces occurring in the belt drive by up to 30%
  • reduction in the camshaft oscillation angle by up to 60%
  • noise optimisation through reduction of the force level

This gives the following possibillities:

  • cost-optimised toothed belt drive systems through downsizing of the belt drive components
  • significant increase in the life of toothed belt drives in comparison with standard designs
  • design of critical drive configurations with toothed belts

ID²® requires systems development from the beginning. It is only through dynamic simulation using the INA belt drive simulation software DINA in conjunction with appropriate system tests that the required effects can be ensured. We are developing ID²® as part of the joint venture CONTITECH – INA GmbH Co KG.
