Metal/polymer composite plain bearings are bearings for very small radial or axial design envelopes. They run with little noise and are particularly suitable where high loads in conjunction with relatively slow rotary and swivel motion must be supported. These products are available as bushes, flanged bushes and thrust washers in two material groups.

The special characteristics of the metal/polymer composite plain bearings are due to the combination of plastic and metal. This material combination allows low-wear sliding characteristics together with high load carrying capacity and thermal conductivity. The static load carrying capacity reaches values of up to 250 N/mm2. All metal/polymer composite plain bearings are free from lead in accordance with the End of Life Vehicles Directive, Directive 2000/53/EC as well as the Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS-II) for the restriction of hazardous substances. They are thus environmentally safe.
